The Lymphoma Association Rugby team (AKA The Periwinkles) first played in 2003 for the Robin Thorpe Memorial Trophy against Hitchin RFC, in what is now an eagerly anticipated annual fundraising event.
Since our inception we've raised over £25,000 for the charity, appeared on TV with Claire, been awarded fundraisers of the year at the charity's Beacon of Hope awards ceremony (the photo above shows Steve & Karl Thorpe receiving this) and even won an international festival.
We are extremely grateful to Hitchin RFC for hosting our annual event and making it such a success.

There was double reason to celebrate for the Lymphoma Association rugby team, aka The Periwinkles, at 15-a-side Bi-Annual International Rugby Festival hosted by Overton Rugby Club in Hampshire.
For the Periwinkles walked off with the honours AND raised a massive £6,000 for charity.
The toughest game in the tournament was undoubtedly the semi-final. A tense and hard-fought match was eventually won 3-0 thanks to their unflappable goal-kicker (Overton missed two penalties and two drop-goal attempts).
